TRACK 1 Robin

I have been a big fan of the Strike books and TV series by Robert Galbraith ( JK Rowling), the song Robin is about Strike's partner and long-time unacquainted love of Robin Ellacott played by Holliday Granger

This is the first of two tracks I wrote about her, the other coming at the end of the album

TRACK 2 Give Me Waylon Give Me Willie

Being a long-time traditional country music fan, I am not a fan of the more Modern Country Music that is popular today. This is a song about missing good old country music, the likes of Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Merl Haggard, George Jones and Johnny Cash

TRACK 3 When The Time Was Right

This song was written by my friend Andy Sissons ( Country Folk) and is a true story of how and when he met his wife Kathleen. I added the music and used AI to supply the female vocals for this Duet

TRACK 4 When the Hedgerows Turn Green Again

I, like many others, suffer terribly with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), the winter blues and can't wait to see the longer days and hedgerows starting to grow back and better days of spring and summer. As I waited for winter to end, I wanted to experiment on a new style with a more modern indie rock, indie folk, and Americana, Jake Bugg style and wrote this one

TRACK 5 The Steeps of the Afternoon

Again, while exploring different genres of music, I thought of writing this song in a 1920s big band vaudeville style with a tongue-in-cheek glance at the English tradition of tea drinking and the upper class

TRACK 6 Firelight Parliament

After a night in my local bar with a handful of friends and a few beers, sitting around a real fire discussing the world and how to put it right, I went home and wrote this song

TRACK 7 Whitby

A folk come sea shanty style songĀ  I wrote about, yes, you guessed it, Whitby, one of my favourite seaside places in North Yorkshire

TRACK 8 It's what we do

Is a country Rockabilly style song I wrote about the life and times of being on the road in my duo, Best of Friends, with my mate Middy, and it's Just What We Do

TRACK 9 If I Ever Get The Chance

Written as a love song for someone who is looking for a partner, but on reflection, after writing, I looked at it in a different light and thought it could also relate to someone missing a loved one who has passed away

TRACK 10 Now is the Time To Say Goodbye

This song was sitting half done in my to-do folder for quite some time until I received some terrible news that a friend and fellow artist of mine had passed away by suicide. I was moved to get this song finished in memory of my friend, RIP Pete

TRACK 11 It Was Always You (Robin Part 2)

The second song dedicated to Robin, combining the feelings and words that never get said but are always there

All songs on the Album are written by Steve Hamlin Chase, except Track 3, written by Andy Sissons and produced by Steve Hamlin Chase at Royal Oak Studios Nottingham, UK
