I am proud to be a product of Lexington School District Two and have several family members who were long-term schoolteachers in this district. As a long-term employee of Dominion Energy South Carolina (formerly SCANA), I serve as the director of retail operations support at Dominion’s offices here in Cayce. I am a graduate of Brookland Cayce High School, and in fact, I serve as the boys’ tennis coach there. I love working with those kids to help them thrive in both athletics and academics. I hold a B.S. in administrative management from Clemson University as well as a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina. Giving back to the community is important to me. I currently volunteer as the secretary of the board of directors for a local charity, the Dickerson Children’s Advocacy Center in Lexington. In previous volunteer leadership roles, I served as treasurer of the board of Palmetto Place, an emergency children’s shelter in Columbia. My wife, Tiffany Aull, is committed to service as well. She is a longtime educator and administrator who is an assistant principal at Brookland Cayce High School and is passionate about taking care of kids in need. We are members of Transfiguration Lutheran Church, and my hobbies include walking the dogs, playing tennis, supporting community events and working in the yard. I have four grown children who attended public schools in Richland One. Three are graduates of Clemson University, and is one a graduate of the University of South Carolina. I was involved in their schools, serving as treasurer of the A.C. Moore Educational Foundation and as a volunteer tennis coach at Dreher High School. I have two stepsons who attended Lexington Two schools, and one is now at Clemson while the other is at the S.C. Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities.
How might I best contribute as a member of the Lexington Two School Board? I bring business acumen to the table, from years in executive management with a major employer in our region, along with strong consensus-building skills. I have friends, colleagues and family members with various viewpoints, and one of my strengths is getting along well with anyone and everyone. I believe in working together for the good of all, which is why I believe that I will be able to provide positive support for students, parents, teachers, and administrators in this district. My focus areas include the following: • Fiscal responsibility • Self-reflection • Encourage innovation in a changing public school environment • Safe and productive school experience • Academic rigor • Improve school-to-work programs to help students connect to careers in South Carolina trades and industries • Enhance ESOL offerings • Support of athletics, arts, ROTC, and other programs that allow students to be involved • Communication and transparency • Seek community support and involvement I pride myself in being able to listen to concerns and help build a consensus, even when the matter at hand is complicated. As a graduate of and resident within Lexington Two, it is a major priority of mine to do what I can to continue to move this district forward. Lexington Two is positioned to innovate and grow, all while honoring its legacy and its focus on the needs of the local community. If elected to the School Board, it would be my honor and pleasure to serve.
